Field Hockey Teams Headed To Enfield For Amy Romano Memorial Scrimmage | Enfield, CT Patch

The friends of Amy Romano Sports Committee facilitate the “The Amy Romano Memorial Field Hockey Jamboree” annually in late August/Early September at Enfield High School. The jamboree is attended by 15-25 regional high school teams and does not count as official games. 100% of the profits go to funding the Amy Romano Memorial Scholarship fund. The event was started in 2009 and honors the legacy of the 1997 Enfield Athletic Hall of Fame recipient and longtime Enfield teacher, Amy Romano. Sadly, Amy passed away in 2007 at the age of 40. This event brings together over 150 girls for the day, and their teams play multiple scrimmage games to sharpen their skills before the season starts.  This year’s event is 8/30/26 at Enfield High School.

The Hall of fame committee welcomes new candidates for consideration to the Enfield Athletic Hall of Fame. THE INDUCTION CEREMONY:

The 29th annual Hall of Fame induction ceremony for the Class of 2026 will be held on Saturday, September 26, 2026, at Topstone Golf Club (South Windsor, CT) starting at 5:30pm –  https://topstonegc.com/   

The Class of 2026 is:  Jeff Beiler, Kathy Carbone, Jill Greenleaf, David Sanchez, Ray Stoll, and Leehna Ware.  Tim Jensen will posthumously receive the George Daly Jr. Special Recognition Award.  The 2006 Fermi Boys’ Soccer (Class L Runner up) & the 1984 & 1985 Fermi Girl’s Volleyball teams will be honored with the team awards.
