Since 1997, The Enfield Athletic Hall of Fame has been awarding scholarships to Enfield's High School senior athlete students going onto to college. The awards are offered to provide some financial assistance to those senior students who have excelled in Enfield athletics (at least one varsity letter), maintained a "B" or better GPA and have demonstrated a measurable degree of community service to our Town of Enfield. In addition, we will give out an award in memory of 1997 HOF Inductee and longtime committee member Amy Romano.
The applications are available from the school's guidance department from January - April 15th. The application submittal deadline is April 28th.
Some of the criteria for the award include: 1.Listing of Colleges accepted to, 2.Athletic Awards/Honors received ,3.Other Scholarships received, 4.Any family & financial special circumstances,5.One original, single spaced, full page essay on the influence of athletics in your life ,6.Two letters of recommendation from non-family members ,7.Class rank, one varsity letter earned, and be in good academic standing ,8.Some degree of community service
All applications will be reviewed by the scholarship sub-committee and their decision is final. Award recipients must show proof of college acceptance prior to receiving the financial award. The award will be sent to the colleges' registrar department in the student/college's name. The committee will investigate the use of misused funds. We will not discriminate between race, color, sex, origin of birth, or the like.

ANNUAL HALL OF FAME INDUCTION BANQUET
The Enfield Athletic Hall of Fame held its annual Hall of Fame induction banquet ceremony for the class of 2017 on Saturday,September 23rd at Oak Ridge Golf Club. Doors to open with a cash bar cocktail hour at 5:45pm. The awards and buffet dinner begin at 6:30 and ceremonies run till approximately 9:30pm. This wonderful event brings together all of our community to a star-studded dinner and presentation. A cash bar service will be offered to all over 21 years old. Each of the inductees, teams, and award winner will be discussed by a professional emcee. Commemorative items are also on sale at the induction ceremony. There will be a slide show during the induction ceremony highlighting the inductees, past and present. Reserved seating is available. It has been taped by Cox Communications, our local cable company.

The 22nd annual Enfield Athletic Hall of Fame Celebrity Golf Classic was held Saturday, May 6, 2017 at the Oak Ridge Country Club in Feeding Hills, MA. Teams are comprised of four golfers playing a scramble format.
The day begins with lunch, followed by a noon shotgun start and a full buffet dinner. Prizes will be awarded to the low gross teams, longest drive, closest to the pin and more.
Celebrities who have participated in past outings include former NFL stars Steve Nelson, Roger LeClerc and Barry Pearson; baseball’s Bill Lee, Dick McAuliffe, Billy Jo Robidoux, Gary Waslewski, Mike Laga and Ron Diorio; hockey’s Doug Roberts and Garry Swain; Olympic wrestling bronze medalist Rodney Smith; and actor Paul D'Amato ("Slap Shot", "The Deer Hunter").
Entry fee is $125 (or $115 if paid in full by April 1), which includes greens fees, cart, lunch, full buffet dinner, prizes, golfer gift and a tax-deductible contribution to the Hall of Fame (a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization). Checks payable to the Enfield Athletic Hall of Fame may be mailed to the Hall of Fame c/o Enfield Recreation Dept., 19 North Main St., Enfield, CT 06082.
