George Daly Jr. Special Recognition Award - Kevin Barmak Memorial Soccer Tournament
The Barmak family and The Enfield Soccer Club created the Kevin Barmak Memorial Soccer Tournament in memory of the Barmakís son, Kevin, in 1992.  Kevinís outstanding soccer career included playing with Enfield soccer, District soccer, State Olympic development soccer, John F. Kennedy Junior High School and Enrico Fermi High School teams. The tournament, drawing teams from players and teams from the region, provides a fun and exciting weekend for thousands of athletes over Labor Day.  Teams compete while exhibiting fair play, great teamwork, and good sportsmanship.  A portion of the proceeds from the annual event directly benefit The Kevin Barmak Memorial Scholarship fund, which are awarded each spring in Enfield.  Scholarships totaling over $80,000 have been awarded. Kevin Barmakís legacy has been preserved for many years, and continues to impact and inspire the lives of many local athletes.
