Joe Andrychowski
Longtime wrestling coach & instrumental in developing a premier program at John F. Kennedy Junior High School (JFK). “Coach Andy” stressed hard work & dedication as the road to success. The JFK teams amassed a record of 89-2 in dual wrestling matches over 9 years. JFK wrestlers, participating in youth wrestling tournaments in 9 years, had 76 Champions, 53 runners-up, 29 third-place, and 10 fourth-place finishers. 18 Enfield High (EHS) State Champions, 3 State Open Champions, and 2 Fermi High State Champions all received their start in the JFK wrestling program. As an Assistant Coach of EHS wrestling (1982-1986, 1990), the teams finished with 1 State Championship (1984) and two 2nd place finishers in the state Championship (1982 & 1983). Assistant football coach of the JFK Junior High School from 1971-82, and Assistant football coach at EHS from 1982-1986. Volunteer EHS golf coach from 1982-92, and Fermi High from 1992- 1995
Lisa Deskis
Enrico Fermi High School (FHS) 1999 graduate. Finished 1st in numerous CCC East championships in high jump, long jump, triple jump, and javelin. State Open Track & Field 1999 Champion in the high jump and javelin (144’10” ranked 14th in the USA) State Open Track & Field 1998 Champion in high jump and javelin. State Class L 1999 Champion in the high jump, javelin and triple jump. State Class L 1998 Champion in the high Jump and placed 3rd in the javelin and 2nd in the triple jump. State Class L 1997 Champion in the high jump and placed 2nd in javelin. Placed 4th in State Class L 1996 high jump as a freshman. Placed 2nd in javelin and 5th in the high jump at the New England championships. Finished 3rd in 1998 Heptathlon championships, and still holds numerous records at Enrico Fermi High School and UCONN. At UCONN, she was a 2001 javelin champion at the New England Outdoor Championships. Ranked 3rd in the Big East Conference in the high jump and 4th in javelin in 2002. Finished 1st in many other Track & Field invitational Track meets. Played Varsity basketball at Enrico Fermi High School.
Mike Maier
1980 Enfield High School graduate. Played 2 years of Enfield High Varsity basketball, and Varsity baseball for 3 years (named co-captain in his senior year). Pitched in state tournament games. Went 6-0 his senior year at Enfield High during the regular season. Went 9-0 for Enfield American Legion Baseball in his senior year, and was named to that All-Star team. Played baseball at Westfield State College. Successfully completed swimming the English Channel (U.K.) three times! Completed 23 full-marathons, including the Boston Marathon three times, with his fastest time being 3 hours and 6 minutes.
Jose Navarro
1987 Enrico Fermi High School graduate. Only wrestler from Enfield, CT to win back-to-back State Open Championships (1986 & 1987 – 105 lbs.). Won Class L Championships at 105 lbs. Finished 2nd at 98 lbs. In 1985. Finished career record of 67-7-2, and ranked 6th in New England Championships earning honorable mention All-American in 1987. Competed in the prestigious Pittsburgh Press Wrestling Classic in 1987. Was Captain of his Fermi High team in 1987 which recorded 21 wins and only 2 losses (which was the best record in school history). Played Enrico Fermi High School varsity football and track for 4 years.
Tammie (Repass) Mangold
1999 Enrico Fermi High School graduate. Led Fermi girls swimming to three CCC-East titles, and a 4th place finish in Class L Championships. Broke 6 individual school records. Won numerous awards in 100 butterfly, 200 & 500 freestyle, 200 individual medley, and 200 medley relay. Class L champion in the 100 butterfly and 500 free-style. Led Central Connecticut State University swimming with 7 individual school records, two-time ECAC Swimmer of the Meet, two-time NEC Swimmer of the Year. First female swimmer from CCSU to compete at NCAA Championships. Won the Gail Rutz Award for being the top female student athlete in her graduating class at CCSU. In 2002, was ranked 12th in the United States and 51st in the world in 200 butterfly. Competed in the 200 butterfly at the 2004 US Olympic team trials. Continues to compete in triathlons, having completed an Ironman in Mont Tremblant, Canada in 2013

THE ENFIELD RAMBLERS YOUTH FOOTBALL TEAM
The Enfield Ramblers Youth Football and Cheerleaders organization have been organized in the town of Enfield, CT for over fifty years. They have provided the youth of Enfield with an organized, diversified, and structured recreation programs. They help lead by teaching values, teamwork, and the desire to work hard to better oneself. The Ramblers are a volunteer organization that is committed to provide quality guidance to the youth of this town. Thousands of Enfield residents have been members of the Rambler’s family, with many children moving on to perform in high school and college. The Rambler’s have helped young athletes find success in their lives with a strong foundation of support and nurturing volunteers in football and cheerleading. Tireless volunteers had dedicated many hours to help our youth learn life-long skills and a sense of pride, accomplishment, and belonging.
1989-90 Enrico Fermi High Hockey Division II State Champs
